Maritza horn – innan elden brunnit ut

Maritza Horn’s latest album, released on Brus & Knaster, is out now! The album is produced by Maritza Horn and Markus Sjöberg. The album was recorded by Markus Sjöberg at Durango Recording, Sthlm Songs Studio and Stureparken Studio. Markus mixed the record here at Sthlm Songs Studio. Mastering by Classe Persson at CRP. The record consists of Maritza’s interpretations of Ola Magnell’s songs.

Sthlm Songs proudly gives you Felicia’s new single ”Window Nr 9”. About the song and the beautiful animated video she says:

”Window Nr 9 is a story about humanity, sexuality and power. In the song, a woman tells a story about her living as a sex worker. She lives in her own world, a utopia. In her world everyone is equal. She can see that the men that come to her are suffering, in need of help, and she wants to help. Window Nr 9 is a clash between two realities, as in the eyes of the men she is an object giving sexual satisfaction, nothing more. We all see the world through different eyes, and as long as the power resides among those who do not see everyone as equal, there will be oppression.”

We proudly present our brand new artist Felicia and her very first single ”Money, Money, Money”. About choosing to do an Abba-cover she says:

”‘It’s a rich man’s world’ is the essence of the song. A quick look at that phrase and another at what is going on in the world and we all know ‘the rich man’. It is his world we live in. It does not have to be about money or a person. You can be rich in other ways, privileged. My version of ‘Money, Money, Money’ is about how much easier it would be to stand on the same side as the money and the power, holding hands with the privileged. ‘The rich man’, whoever that is, needs to understand his power. He needs to understand the effect of his wealth on the world surrounding him.”

Produced by Markus Sjöberg and Petter Näse. Recorded by Markus Sjöberg and Petter Näse. Mixed by Markus Sjöberg. Mastered by Eric Broyhill at MonsterLab Audio. Written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus.

Cello: Anna Dager. Violin: Hanna Ekström. Upright bass: Clas Lassbo. Drums and percussion: Jesper Hättander. Guitar: Petter Näse. Piano: Markus Sjöberg.

Pills – released may 27th

The Heartbeat Band - Pills

”Pills” is the first single from the follow-up to The Heartbeat Band’s debut album Sailor Heart. In “Pills”, the band’s songwriter Marcus Granfors deals with the fact that, in today’s society, we feel worse day by day while we all really strive to feel loved and valuable. Burned-out and lonely people choose the easy way out either to make it through the day or to end it, while sincere relationships might be the only thing that really helps. Only true love love makes us do the good and bad things we never thought we could.

Produced and mixed by Markus Sjöberg at Sthlm Songs.
Recorded by Pelle Henricsson at Tonteknik Recording.
Additional recording by Markus Sjöberg.
Mastered by Eric Broyhill at MonsterLab Audio.
Artwork by Ulrika Öhman.

Sthlm Songs is proud to announce the release of Markus Black Sjoberg’s debut album ”The 16-track sessions”. 8 songs of organic and personal pop music with a dogmatic approach to the production process. The soundscape is both intimate and ambient, a vibey album full of honest performances, free from computer trickery.

Markus has a lifelong background in the music industry as a songwriter, producer, musician and mixer for other artists and is often referred to as ”Sweden’s best kept secret”. After years of working behind the scenes, Markus decided to make a highly personal album ”because he can”.

”The 16-track sessions” is produced, recorded and mixed by Markus at Jellyroad studios/Sthlm Songs and features some of the best musicians around. Real people playing real instruments, simple as that!
